West Punch Service Technician About the Company

Position Overview
The West Punch Service Technician provides on-site service, installation, repair, and customer support for industrial punching equipment. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and offers consistent travel, overtime, and per diem.
Territory & Travel

  • Seattle, WA (must be within driving distance)

  • Oregon (Portland area)

  • Approximately 95–100% travel

  • Must live within 1–2 hours of a major airport
Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues

  • Disassemble and rebuild machines mechanically and electrically

  • Perform PLC and HMI software updates

  • Interpret electrical schematics and block diagrams

  • Troubleshoot AC/DC control circuits, sensors, relays, timers, and drives

  • Service mechanical components including ball screws, bearings, gearing, and way systems

  • Document service work, issues, and resolutions in detail
Required Qualifications

  • Strong electrical measurement and inspection skills (voltmeter, oscilloscope, test equipment)

  • Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems

  • Minimum 3 years of PLC troubleshooting experience

  • Minimum 3 years of mechanical troubleshooting experience

  • Experience servicing industrial machinery or capital equipment

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Willingness to travel full-time
Preferred Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of machine tool or field service experience

  • CNC programming exposure

  • High school diploma or equivalent
Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly pay with overtime

  • $90/day per diem when traveling
