Sanitation Manager

Job Description
Our Client, a USDA-regulated food production facility in Bartlett, IL is seeking an experienced Sanitation Manager to lead and elevate their sanitation programs. This is a critical leadership role, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, compliance, and food safety across the Company's operations.
Requirements:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive sanitation programs (SSOP, BRC, USDA, FDA, SQF).
- Own and manage the Master Sanitation Schedule and related documentation.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure sanitation excellence.
- Manage sanitation chemical inventory and ensure proper usage and safety.
- Lead, train, and supervise the sanitation team to ensure procedure compliance and performance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams on Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Maintain effective communication with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams to support sanitation priorities.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal sanitation and safety regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Support overall food safety and quality programs in the facility.
- Stay current on sanitation best practices and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of sanitation management experience in the food manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience managing sanitation across multiple production buildings.
- Experience overseeing sanitation operations for 20+ production lines and leading a sanitation team of 60+ employees.
- Strong leadership experience managing direct reports, including Sanitation Leads.
- In-depth knowledge of sanitation chemicals, equipment systems, and production line sanitization.
- Expertise in GMP, SQF, HACCP, FDA, USDA, PMO, and OSHA regulations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and team management skills.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to hygiene and food safety.
- Fluency in Spanish is required.
- Flexibility in working hours is essential — primary schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with availability for weekend shifts as needed.
