The Sales Director USA position for our client in North America is crucial for driving the company's growth in the American market. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to expand the business, identifying new opportunities, and nurturing client relationships. The Sales Director will also analyze market trends and competitors to inform sales tactics, aiming to meet and surpass sales goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, expertise in grocery products, and a proven commercial record. They should be a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership qualities, bilingual in Italian and English, and willing to travel to drive our client's growth in North America.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain daily communication with clients to initiate new relationships and fortify existing ones.
  • Work closely with headquarters to craft and define innovative sales policies and marketing strategies.
  • Supervise and manage brokers and distributors, cooperating closely with their sales representatives.
  • Act as a representative for our client at trade shows and industry events to elevate the brand and its product lines.
  • Perform periodic assessments to decide which products and lines to introduce or expand within various clients/locations.
  • Handle price negotiations and assess P&L opportunities as they arise.
  • Track business trends and manage the placement of products based on geographic territories and local trends.
  • Maintain effective communication with headquarters to brainstorm new ideas and implement programs specifically for the USA.
  • Develop marketing and sales presentations that clearly highlight selling points and opportunities.
  • Partner with the Marketing Department to develop marketing and trade marketing activities within the set budget.
  • Stay informed about market and competitor trends to strategically position our client.
  • Collaborate with logistics partners to oversee inventory and control transportation costs.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 7-10 years in a Business Development role within the Food Sector, particularly in grocery items like canned goods and sauces.
  • Experience with the sales of Italian products in the USA and the management of private label business.
  • Analytical acumen, with knowledge of American distribution dynamics and key market players.
  • A profound passion for food, with strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and negotiate effectively.
  • Proven sales success with strategic foresight and the competence to carry out operational tasks.
  • A customer-centric approach, able to develop and sustain productive customer relationships.
  • Self-motivated and eager to make a significant impact, adaptable to a dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in both Italian and English.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
