Senior SAP Manager
Department: IT

FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary
This is a full-time position with limited travel requirements.
The Senior SAP Manager must have proven hands-on experience in SAP WM/LE/MM/SD modules.
Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Senior SAP Manager will provide leadership and direction to 4+ SAP team members. The role manages all IT application-based projects (SAP and auxiliary applications and systems) throughout their lifecycle. This position manages a team in the Information Technology Department, including overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the team.
The Senior SAP Manager will provide leadership to the application development and support team by building team skills and motivating team members to meet project goals, responsibilities, and milestones. The role ensures adherence to project management methodology practices, performs project management reviews, and reinforces enterprise knowledge management.
This position recommends, defines, implements, and supports applications aligned with business and IT strategies. The role coordinates with other IT members and IT leadership to review project proposals, determine goals, timeframe, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and resource allocation. The Senior SAP Manager directs projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders and matrix partners and is accountable for defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities include defining and tracking project charters, integrated project plans, resource plans, risk plans, and budgets, and preparing and presenting clear project status reports and issue logs to key stakeholders and management.

Essential Responsibilities 1) SAP Team Leadership

Lead, develop, and support the SAP Functional team to deliver optimal customer service.

Build internal credibility with IT, internal stakeholders, and company leadership.

Success measures include customer satisfaction, quality, efficiency, and team member satisfaction.

Lead direct reports and resources without direct reporting relationships (internal and external); partner with their supervisors as needed to address availability and performance issues.

Support and develop team members.

Ensure the SAP team’s mission is aligned with the overall IT mission.

Ensure best practices are followed for documenting current configuration and maintaining documentation for all changes, including specifications and testing documentation.

Ensure timely application maintenance and support through responsiveness to user issues/requests via multiple channels, documenting resolution details in the Help Desk system.

Maintain open and transparent communication with the SAP Team and IT Leadership.
-
Participate in strategic business initiatives to deliver new SAP functionality.
-
Implement a wide array of projects, including new business integrations, functional enhancements, and system upgrades.

Work cohesively with Business Process Owners to ensure business process design and supporting SAP configuration/developments align with business needs.

Explore, understand, and implement new SAP modules and functionality.

Understand common project implementation methodologies, including waterfall approaches (SDLC, ASAP) and newer approaches (Agile).

Operate effectively with general direction and ambiguity; maintain accountability.

Ensure stability and continuity in IT operations.

Manage budgeting, forecasting, capital vs. operational expense funding, and vendor management.

Demonstrate effective oral and written communication and ability to interact with all levels of internal customers.

Be a self-motivated team player able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Be a detail-oriented problem-solver while maintaining a big-picture perspective.

Understand company-specific business processes and how they translate into IT service delivery to meet customer expectations.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
-
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without VISA sponsorship (U.S. citizen or Green Card holder).

Proven people and project management skills and relevant experience.
-
Minimum 7+ years of advanced SAP experience, including hands-on SAP configuration.

Experience with requirements gathering, solution design, development, and deployment.
-
Expertise in SAP WM/LE/MM modules.
-
Extensive knowledge of SAP Logistics Execution functionality, including inbound/outbound processes and internal warehouse processes.

Knowledge of RF-guns operations and warehouse sorting equipment.
-
Knowledge of integration points between SAP WM, SD, MM, and FI.
-
AFS experience is highly desirable.
-
EDI experience desirable.
-
Vertex Indirect Tax software experience is desirable.

Experience in business process design concepts and principles.

Ability to produce clearly written, well-organized documentation.
-
Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills; ability to present design proposals, execute training sessions, and conduct meetings.

Comfortable working within a global organization and aligning local needs/requirements with global IT strategy.
