Quality & Product Compliance Manager

Job Description

Our client, a global leader in filter and component manufacturing is seeking a dynamic QA/Product Compliance Manager with expertise in working with PPE/RPE regulations and standards (EN 140, EN 166, NIOSH) to support their Safety division. Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Address customer complaints and maintain relationships in case of quality issues.
  • Oversee audits, including third-party audits.
  • Handle incoming quality and supplier management.
  • Maintain product compliance for regulated devices, including certification updates and internal/external test lab management.
  • Provide regulatory support to engineering for changes and new product development.

Reporting Structure:
  • Reports to the Local General Manager (GM).
  • Functionally reports to the Corporate Quality Director.

Experience Requirements:
  • 6 to 10 years of experience in a similar field, focusing on Quality Assurance (QA), Supplier Quality, or Product Engineering (Product Compliance).

Job Purpose:
  • Oversee the certification and approval of new products.
  • Update and maintain existing certifications and approvals.
  • Control, update, and maintain technical files and regulatory documentation.
  • Provide regulatory support for the engineering team.
  • Support the quality team in matters relating to supplied products.

Experience:
  • Proven experience in planning and managing projects.
  • Experience with applications for certifications and approvals to notified and approval bodies.
  • Desirable experience in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Respiratory Personal Equipment (RPE).
  • Familiarity with ISO quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IATF 16949).
  • Knowledge of PPE/RPE regulations and standards (EN 140, EN 166, NIOSH).
  • Experience with regulated products supply chain activities.
  • Internal/Supplier Audit training is desirable.

Educational Requirements:
  • HND/HNC or equivalent.
  • BA/BSc/BEng in science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Background in Product Design, Industrial Design, Design Engineering, or equivalent.

Detailed Responsibilities:
  • Manage development projects from quotation to delivery, continuously reviewing project goals and product conformity within the established Project Management Process.
  • Achieve certification and approvals for newly developed products.
  • Update and maintain existing certifications and approvals, including updates necessitated by product and documentation changes.
  • Control, update, and maintain technical files and regulatory documentation.
  • Provide regulatory support and advice to the R&D engineering team.
  • Interact with regulatory agencies to track changes and address compliance questions and issues.
  • Organize, plan, and control required product testing for development and certification.
  • Ensure accurate and meaningful records are maintained in line with company practices and ISO quality standards.
  • Adhere to all relevant procedures and processes as defined in the company quality system.
  • Provide targeted support to the Quality Assurance team regarding the supply of externally provided products, completing supplier audits, and managing supplier complaints.
