ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Our Client is a fast-growing, family-owned premium coffee distributor with deep roots in traditional coffee craftsmanship and a strong presence in the New Jersey and New York metro area. Serving independent cafés, restaurants, hotels, offices, and specialty retailers, the company is known for its high-quality products, hands-on service, and long-term partnerships within the specialty coffee and hospitality community.

As part of an aggressive growth strategy, our Client is seeking a Field Sales Representative to develop and expand business across New Jersey and Staten Island. This is a field-based role ideal for a driven sales professional—or a seasoned barista or café manager—ready to take ownership of a territory and build meaningful customer relationships.

MISSION

The Field Sales Representative will be responsible for driving new business, growing existing accounts, and strengthening brand presence across the territory. This role combines proactive prospecting with consultative selling and requires a passion for coffee, hospitality, and relationship-building.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prospect, cold-call, and close new business with independent cafés, restaurants, hotels, and boutique hospitality accounts
  • Grow existing accounts by introducing new coffee blends, equipment solutions, and private-label programs
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with owners, chefs, and barista teams
  • Conduct tastings, cuppings, and training sessions to educate customers and drive loyalty
  • Manage the full sales cycle: lead generation, product demos, proposals, closing, and ongoing account growth
  • Consistently meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales and revenue targets
  • Collaborate closely with internal roasting, service, and operations teams to deliver an outstanding customer experience

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • 1–2 years of outside B2B sales experience preferred (food & beverage, specialty food, or hospitality strongly preferred)
  • Exceptional baristas or café managers with deep specialty coffee experience and strong relationship-building skills are highly encouraged to apply
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Genuine passion for specialty coffee and café culture
  • Comfortable with cold-calling, door-to-door prospecting, and face-to-face selling
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently within a territory
  • Reliable transportation and a clean driving record
  • Italian language skills (conversational or fluent) are a plus
  • Proficiency with MS Office and basic computer tools
