HR Generalist

Job Description
Our client, a leading importer and marketer of premium Mediterranean food products, is seeking a HR Generalist with strong expertise in personnel administration and a solid background in HR processes to strengthen their US organization.
Your tasks
Reporting to the CEO and coordinating with Corporate HR in Europe, you will provide support to approximately 40 employees ensuring operational excellence in HR administration, compliance, and process optimization.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all personnel administration activities, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing in collaboration with external providers when necessary
- Guarantee full compliance with U.S. labor regulations and corporate policies by regularly updating and implementing HR procedures and documentation
- Maintain and improve HR systems and data accuracy, including employee records, contracts, attendance, and benefits administration
- Act as a point of reference for all administrative HR matters, ensuring employees and management receive consistent and high-quality support
- Provide guidance on HR compliance and administrative issues, including disciplinary procedures, leaves, and legal documentation
- Support organizational changes and HR initiatives by deploying relevant processes and tools in line with business needs
- Supporting performance review cycles, training programs, and employee onboarding with a structured administrative approach
- Contribute to cultivating a collaborative and inclusive work culture by supporting employee engagement and internal communication initiatives
- Ensure continuous improvement in HR processes, especially in the areas of reporting, auditing, and documentation
Requirements
- 4–5 years of experience in Human Resources, with focus on personnel administration and payroll management
- Deep knowledge of U.S. employment law and HR compliance
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a proactive and hands-on approach
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, international environment
- A team player who values trust, cooperation, and operational excellence
- Ability to work on a hybrid schedule. 3 days in office, in Lyndhurst NJ, two remote
