Production Manager II

Job Description
We are seeking a full-time Production Manager II to join our client's team at a meat processing facility in Monmouth County, NJ. This assistant management level position is integral to our production department, where raw materials are ordered, received, stored, assembled, prepared, processed, cooked, and chilled. The role involves both physically-intensive hands-on work and office work, including computer tasks and paperwork. As the "right hand" to the Primary Production Manager, the Production Manager II will run production alongside and in the absence of the Primary Production Manager. Responsibilities
- Production Scheduling: Ensure production is scheduled efficiently to meet customer needs and adhere to food safety regulations (USDA, FDA, internal policies).
- Record Keeping: Maintain necessary records for traceability and food safety.
- Team Collaboration: Work independently and within a team to complete various stages of processing.
- Production Management: Oversee all stages of the production cycle, from management to receiving, cooking, and chilling.
- Daily Production: Schedule and manage daily production tasks, including grinding, mixing, chopping, stuffing, cooking, and chilling.
- ERP System: Ensure production and inventory are accurately recorded in the ERP system; complete computer production reports via ERP and Excel.
- Quality Control: Manage paperwork and records for quality control, sanitation, safety, and maintenance.
- Inventory Management: Track and manage raw materials inventory; determine needs and coordinate ordering with office staff.
- Cooking and Chilling: Manage procedures to ensure Critical Control Points (CCPs) are met.
- GMP Compliance: Ensure proper Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed and maintain sanitary conditions of machinery and environment.
- Machinery Operation: Operate machinery used for processing raw materials.
- Quality Inspection: Sort and inspect raw materials for quality control.
- Batch Preparation: Measure and weigh raw materials for batches.
- Loading Racks: Load cooking racks with raw products for cooking.
- Cleaning and Sanitizing: Participate in the cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and spaces.
- Receiving and Unloading: Receive and load/unload trucks using a forklift.
- Additional Tasks: Perform additional tasks as requested by the Production Manager or executive management.
- Experience: Proven experience in production management, preferably in perishable food processing (meat industry preferred).
- Certification: HACCP certified and/or PCQI.
- Math Skills: Confident with basic math (multiplication, addition, subtraction).
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, bend, climb, squat, reach, pull, push, and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs for long periods.
- Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Forklift/Pallet Jack Certification: Certification preferred (training provided).
- OSHA Certification: OSHA trained/certified.
- Boiler License: Possession of a boiler license is a strong consideration.
