Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced NDT Inspector Level II to support the inspection, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of commercial and military aircraft landing gear components. The successful candidate will perform non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections in accordance with FAA regulations, OEM specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards to ensure the airworthiness and integrity of critical aircraft components.
This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise in aviation NDT methods and experience working within a Part 145 repair station or aerospace manufacturing environment.

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced NDT Inspector Level II to support the inspection, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of commercial and military aircraft landing gear components. The successful candidate will perform non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections in accordance with FAA regulations, OEM specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards to ensure the airworthiness and integrity of critical aircraft components.
This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise in aviation NDT methods and experience working within a Part 145 repair station or aerospace manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform Level II Non-Destructive Testing inspections on aircraft landing gear and associated components using approved methods and procedures.
- Conduct inspections utilizing one or more of the following methods:
- Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI/PT)
- Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI/MT)
- Eddy Current Testing (ET)
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT) (if certified)
- Interpret and evaluate inspection results in accordance with OEM manuals, FAA regulations, NAS410, ASTM, and customer specifications.
- Identify, document, and report discrepancies, defects, and non-conforming conditions.
- Review technical data, maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, service bulletins, and inspection procedures.
- Ensure inspection equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and functioning within required standards.
- Generate and maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and certifications.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve inspection findings.
- Verify compliance with FAA Part 145, EASA, AS9100, and customer quality requirements.
- Assist with internal audits, external audits, and customer inspections as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to company safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Current NDT Level II Certification in accordance with NAS410, SNT-TC-1A, or equivalent industry standard.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of NDT inspection experience within aerospace, aviation MRO, or aircraft component overhaul environments.
- Experience inspecting aircraft landing gear, structural components, wheels, brakes, or related aerospace hardware preferred.
- Working knowledge of FAA regulations and aviation quality standards.
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Engineering drawings
- Technical manuals
- OEM repair specifications
- Inspection procedures
- Strong understanding of aerospace materials, metallurgy, and defect identification.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance or quality management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Part 145 Repair Station environment.
- Certifications in multiple NDT methods (PT, MT, ET, UT).
- Familiarity with landing gear overhaul processes and OEM requirements.
- Knowledge of EASA, AS9110, and AS9100 standards.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work around aircraft components for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in shop environments involving chemicals, oils, solvents, and inspection equipment.
- Visual acuity sufficient to perform detailed inspections and interpret indications.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
