Key Account Manager

Job Description
Our Client, a global leader in manufacturing fastening solutions, is seeking a highly motivated Key Account Manager to oversee sales in the Midwest USA region. This role will involve both managing and growing existing key accounts as well as developing new business opportunities within industrial sectors such as heavy machinery, hydraulics, and industrial automation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling complex sales cycles, including managing RFP (Request for Proposal) and RFQ (Request for Quotation) processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead business development initiatives aimed at acquiring new industrial accounts within the Midwest USA, with a focus on sectors such as manufacturing systems, heavy equipment, and mechanical components.
- Manage relationships with existing key accounts, working to expand their business and ensure long-term customer satisfaction.
- Handle all aspects of the RFP and RFQ processes, from initial identification of opportunities to proposal submission, contract negotiation, and closing deals.
- Collaborate closely with the North America Sales Director to develop and execute sales forecasts, strategic plans, and promotional programs for the Midwest region.
- Provide comprehensive technical and sales support to customers, ensuring they have the necessary product knowledge and resources to meet their manufacturing needs.
- Identify opportunities for new product introductions or modifications based on customer needs and market trends in the industrial sector.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase market share and revenue in both existing and new accounts.
- Provide sales training and field support to team members to improve their ability to handle technical inquiries and RFP/RFQ processes.
- Stay up to date on market trends, competitive activities, and customer demands, adjusting strategies as needed to maintain a competitive edge.
- Travel regularly within the Midwest to meet with customers, attend industry events, and visit company locations.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field required.
- At least 5 years of experience in sales or key account management, ideally within the industrial, manufacturing, or precision product sectors.
- Proven experience managing RFP/RFQ processes and securing large-scale contracts in industries such as industrial machinery, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, product costing, and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
