Job brief
Our Client, an Italian Pasta Manufacturer, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Inventory Specialist & Logistics Cost Controller. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing inventory levels, managing replenishment processes, and controlling logistics costs within the company's supply chain. Direct report to Head of Logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while minimizing shortages and excesses.
- Monitor stock levels and conduct regular audits to ensure accurate inventory tracking.
- Coordinate with suppliers to facilitate timely and efficient stock replenishment.
- Building strong relationships with both distributors and third parties and internal production leaders.
- Work with supply chain planners to develop efficient supply chain strategies and manage company inventory.
- Analyze data to forecast demand and adjust inventory levels accordingly.
- Maintain inventory databases and implement control procedures for efficient inventory management.
- Collaborate with various departments to streamline inventory processes and ensure seamless operations.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory flow and reduce costs.
- Oversee the logistics budget and analyze expenses within the supply chain.
- Develop annual budget for logistics workstream, accountable for execution, control day to-day spend against budget.
- Responsible for analysis and control of all inbound logistics costs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce logistics costs.
- Monitor transportation, warehousing, and distribution costs to ensure efficiency.
- Negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers and service providers.
- Analyze logistic data to optimize routes, modes of transportation, and inventory handling.
- Implement measures to improve cost efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance overall supply chain effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory management, replenishment, and logistics cost control.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Excel for data analysis.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English (Italian language is a plus)
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills .
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and across different departments.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Power point & Word, SAP.
- Availability to travel as needed.
Hybrid work schedule. 3 days in office, 2 remote. Office located in Downtown Manhattan.
