Job Description

Company Summary:
Our client is a leading manufacturer specializing in tooling and fixtures for the aerospace, defense, and automotive industries. The company is committed to delivering precision-engineered solutions to meet the highest industry standards and customer expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Determine manufacturing processes, equipment needs, programming requirements, setup/build machine operations, materials, labor, and other necessary elements for project completion.
  • Review print requirements, including bills of material, GD&T, specifications, and AS9100/ITAR standards.
  • Calculate tool and fixture build costs using labor, raw material, purchased parts, and processing price estimates.
  • Prepare formal price and delivery quotations for management and customers.
  • Communicate with Account Managers and customers regarding proposals, quotations, and project updates.
  • Assist in preparing work instructions/job travelers for new and revised projects.
  • Maintain timeliness, organization, and efficiency in all tasks, demonstrating self-starter capabilities.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Tool Build, Fabrication, and Machine Shop estimating for medium to high-complexity tooling and parts.
  • Proficiency in setup and operation of diverse machinery, with quoting experience in tool build, CNC Milling, and traditional machine shop operations in a Job Shop environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of technical specifications, drawings, bills of material, material/process specifications, quality documentation, and associated documentation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of tooling required for specific applications.
  • Experience with tool tracker software implementation.
  • CNC knowledge is a plus
  • Expertise in building and machining various types of materials.
  • Proficiency in inspection and measurement tools for part dimensions.

Physical and Mental Demands:
  • Frequently moves between office and shop environments to gather information and complete tasks.
  • Performs extensive computer-based research, documentation, quoting, and communication with customers for extended periods.
  • Regularly engages with managers, technical staff, and coworkers to execute project scopes and related duties.
