POSITION SUMMARY
The organization is seeking a technically fluent and proactive Senior Project Manager to oversee custom-engineered capital equipment projects from initial bid through final acceptance and customer payment. This role demands strong leadership, full project ownership, and coordination across engineering, production, procurement, and service teams—ensuring complete customer satisfaction while achieving profitability and operational excellence.

Additionally, the Senior Project Manager will help evolve internal project management practices and may supervise other project managers to support consistent and high-level performance across the team.

 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Project Execution

  • Lead all project phases: kickoff, design, procurement, production, testing, shipment, installation, and final sign-off.

  • Act as the primary customer liaison, ensuring timely and accurate communication throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Prepare detailed project documentation, including specifications, schedules, and internal communication plans.

  • Maintain control over scope, cost, and schedule, ensuring alignment through to project completion.

  • Conduct monthly financial reviews to report variances and implement adjustments to meet budgetary goals.

  • Perform post-project reviews to identify areas for improvement in process and design.

  • Travel up to 30%, including international destinations, for meetings, inspections, startups, and issue resolution.
Technical & Engineering Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with Engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable and aligned with technical, cost, and schedule goals.

  • Mediate cross-departmental discussions to resolve complex design or execution challenges.

  • Review engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documents to verify compliance with project scope and standards.

  • Confidently engage in technical conversations with customers during design reviews and implementation.

  • Demonstrate understanding of core technologies such as fluid handling, PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Production & Procurement Oversight

  • Coordinate with Production to align builds with engineering outputs and manufacturing standards.

  • Monitor production quality and timelines, proactively addressing deviations or issues.

  • Work closely with Procurement to manage timely acquisition of parts and ensure specifications are met.

  • Resolve supplier issues efficiently to avoid production delays.
Cross-Functional Communication & Leadership

  • Facilitate open and clear communication between all project stakeholders, including engineering, production, procurement, service, and admin.

  • Act as the go-to project leader for resolving interdepartmental issues.

  • Mentor junior Project Managers and contribute to the development of standardized tools and best practices across the team.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Combination of office and industrial shop floor environments, with exposure to noise and machinery.

  • Ability to stand and walk during extended site visits and inspections.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%, including internationally, for project-related responsibilities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering

  • 10–15 years of experience in project management within custom equipment or capital machinery sectors

  • Technical expertise in areas such as PLC controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fluid handling

  • Experience in a design-to-build environment with direct technical responsibility

  • Demonstrated supervisory experience in cross-functional or project team settings

  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project; familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is advantageous
