Job Description


The Director of Operations ensures manufacturing sites excel in operational metrics, drive efficiency, and foster an engaged culture. Seeking an innovative leader with strong operations management skills for multi-site oversight.

 

Organizational Development: (20%)

 
  • Establish clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and recognize achievements, fostering accountability among team members, ultimately improving productivity and quality standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with all cross functional areas to drive continuous improvement initiatives and achieve business results.

 

Operations Excellence (60%)

 
  • Achieve zero safety incidents and boost engagement in safety programs.
  • Lead and support operations team for excellence.
  • Manage all aspects of manufacturing operations.
  • Attain high operational metrics: Quality > 99.5%, Service > 93%, Productivity > 95%, Scrap < 11%.
  • Collaborate with finance for budgeting and expense management.
  • Implement strategies for >$1M operational cost improvement.
  • Track KPIs for performance enhancement.
  • Allocate resources and manage budgets effectively.
  • Develop tools for better metric communication.
  • Enhance communication effectiveness based on employee survey feedback.

 

Enterprise Growth (20%)
  • Manage operational project pipeline, defining scope, execution plan, savings projection, and completion timeline.
  • Administer annual capital budget for on-time, on-budget site projects meeting payback expectations.
  • Identify and implement innovative manufacturing enhancements for process optimization.

 

Education/Experience/Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Administration, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not required. Associated degrees with experience will be considered.
  • 5 years of experience in operations management, with demonstrated success in managing P/L responsibilities. Manufacturing experience in the paper/film coating and converting is beneficial.
  • Strong leadership managing multi-site operations, driving excellence and meeting P/L targets.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Excel.
  • Expertise in data analysis tools like Tableau, Power BI.
  • Knowledgeable in manufacturing processes, ERP, and WMS systems.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
