BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - CORPORATE


JOB TITLE – BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

DEPARTMENT – Sales (Corporate division)

LOCATION –ALU inc. – 11 Mayfield Ave, Edison, NJ, 08837 (employee home location most of the time)

HIERARCHICAL DEPENDENCE Managing Director in US, Global Commercial Director (located in Italy)

FUNCTIONAL DEPENDENCE Global Commercial Director (located in Italy)

INTERNAL INTER-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS PM, CS, Retail, Marketing

EXTERNAL INTER-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Clients and Architecture and design firms

TERRITORY: US and Canada

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Weekly (initially most of the development will be in the North East, followed by the West Coast and Middle East)

CAREER GROWTH: Possibility to become the person responsible of the whole Corporate Division


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the Managing Director in the development of the overall Sales strategy;
  • Develop the corporate market by growing relationships with Architects, design firms and directly with end users
  • Work closely with the marketing department to develop sales tools (pricelists, catalogues, activities, marketing initiatives, events, shows and fairs etc.)
  • In line with the Company’s general Sales and Marketing strategies: plan, organize and guide sales programs to achieve maximum sales volume possible for the company;
  • Contribute to build and grow a sales team in the US (independent reps or direct sales managers under Alu)
  • Propose and deliver sales targets;
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships;
  • Report the progress of weekly/monthly initiatives to the Global Commercial Director /Managing Director;
  • Assure constant feed-back on products, prices, marketing activities, market dynamics, competitors actions
  • Monitor ALU’s local competition;
  • Participate in internal sales  activities, events and shows and fairs
  • Support the Administrative Office in credit management;

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent;
  • Strong business development (rather than salesmanship) aptitude;
  • Excellent analysis, synthesis and communication skills;
  • Worldly personality. Ability to work in a dynamic, multicultural and non-formal environment;
  • Strong knowledge of corporate industry with established contacts in NYC and possibly other areas in the US and Canada;
  • Ability to interface dynamically at both high and mid ranking levels within client organizations;
  • Excellent knowledge of the English languages, both written and spoken, is essential;
  • Proven track record in meeting or exceeding goals;
  • Ability to control and work within budgets;
  • Excellent relation’s skills;
  • Strong team spirit;
  • Leadership;
  • Self-motivated;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Positive and enthusiastic personality;
  • Given a task, ability to act independently in line with the company’s strategies.
