The Role
We’re seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee core accounting operations at a corporate location in Green Bay, WI. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing the monthly close process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and leading a team of accounting professionals.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of people leadership, technical accounting, and process improvement within a project-based, engineering-focused environment.
What You’ll Be Doing

Lead and coordinate period-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

Prepare and review monthly financial results, including fluctuation and variance analysis for senior leadership

Oversee key accounting functions including accounts payable oversight, fixed assets, accruals, reserves, and balance sheet reconciliations

Evaluate accounting practices and recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and internal controls

Partner with operational teams to support forecasting, reporting, and finance initiatives

Coordinate internal and external audit activities, including mid-year and year-end audits

Support cash flow forecasting and financial analysis for leadership

Manage, coach, and develop a team of 5+ accounting professionals

Ensure compliance with established quality, safety, and organizational standards

Perform additional duties as assigned

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)

6+ years of general ledger and financial accounting experience in a manufacturing, construction, or project-based environment

Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting

Advanced Excel skills and strong Microsoft Office proficiency

Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, BAAN, Epicor, or Sage preferred

Government-contract or project-accounting experience is a plus

CPA certification preferred or willingness to pursue

Proven people-management and leadership experience

Strong organizational, communication, and confidentiality skills
This role is based in a professional, climate-controlled office environment with occasional exposure to shipyard settings. The position is fully onsite in Green Bay, WI.
