The Role
We’re seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee core accounting operations at a corporate location in Green Bay, WI. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing the monthly close process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and leading a team of accounting professionals.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of people leadership, technical accounting, and process improvement within a project-based, engineering-focused environment.
What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and coordinate period-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

  • Prepare and review monthly financial results, including fluctuation and variance analysis for senior leadership

  • Oversee key accounting functions including accounts payable oversight, fixed assets, accruals, reserves, and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Evaluate accounting practices and recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and internal controls

  • Partner with operational teams to support forecasting, reporting, and finance initiatives

  • Coordinate internal and external audit activities, including mid-year and year-end audits

  • Support cash flow forecasting and financial analysis for leadership

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of 5+ accounting professionals

  • Ensure compliance with established quality, safety, and organizational standards

  • Perform additional duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 6+ years of general ledger and financial accounting experience in a manufacturing, construction, or project-based environment

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting

  • Advanced Excel skills and strong Microsoft Office proficiency

  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, BAAN, Epicor, or Sage preferred

  • Government-contract or project-accounting experience is a plus

  • CPA certification preferred or willingness to pursue

  • Proven people-management and leadership experience

  • Strong organizational, communication, and confidentiality skills
Work Environment
This role is based in a professional, climate-controlled office environment with occasional exposure to shipyard settings. The position is fully onsite in Green Bay, WI.
